Ninety-seven years ago, on June 11, 1927, the Grand Lodge of F. & A.M. of California conducted a cornerstone laying ceremony for the Oakland Scottish Rite Temple. Six months later, on December 5, 1927 the first stated meeting was held, and seven days later on December 12, the building was dedicated following a grand parade, and finishing with a four-day (Dec. 13–16) Scottish Rite Reunion, where the degrees of the Rite were conferred.
